When two young Catalan and Basque chefs met eight years ago, a firm and long-distance friendship was forged. Chefs Martí Carlos and Iñaki Bolumburu found common ground in their professional zeal. They open their own paths to experience, learn and be inspired by their millennial culinary cultures. While both are deeply rooted in their traditions, they also believe in expressing their stories through progressive methods with great respect for the produce, a shared aspiration to celebrate their heritage through modern interpretations of traditional dishes.
This August, Restaurant Gaig welcomes chef Iñaki Bolumburu for the restaurant's first 4-hand collaboration Dinner. Turned on August 23 and 24, 2022, executive chef Martí Carlos Martinez and Iñaki Bolumburu – a self-described nomadic chef – come together to present a contemporary sample of Catalan and Basque cuisine. The tasting menu ($200++ per person) celebrates vibrant heritage flavors through four appetizers and eight courses, expressed through innovative techniques and refined presentations.
